PRStarbase Announcement!

Attention all Starbasers! The new year is heating up in the public relations, marketing and social media segments of our business.  Be more than a member. Join a group to stand out from the masses.  As groups populate, look for further segmentation as a means of providing relevant content. Remember to upload a profile photo and check back for new job postings.

Trevelino/Keller Announces Expansion of PR Starbase

The marketplace is changing rapidly everyday. Public Relations is no longer as independent as it once was to the marketing process, at least it isn’t if you are forward-looking. Our mantra has always been to think forward, to be an early adopter of technology, methodology and services. So while PR Starbase was designed to be a community for public relations practitioners, with a new masthead and description, we announce the expansion of the community beyond PR practitioners to include marketing communications experts, creative freelancers and digital media pros. We believe our business should include all of these important disciplines sitting around the table developing strategies and executions if we are going to gain the mindshare of those audiences important to us. So look for future announcements about the next stage of Trevelino/Keller and its PR Starbase community.

Help Me, Help You.

As I'm perusing the site for candidates for an upcoming position, I am inclined to pull up people's pages to read, at a minimum, their resume. I am inclined to think that because that's the recommendation we gave you when you joined the site. It seems for every five people on this site, two have failed to get the message. Instead of find irrelevant news feeds and poorly chosen photos. Help me, help you. Load your resume to your page. If you want to include photos of yourself highlighting your interests, personality, have at it. Be smart, but have at it. Thanks.

Social Media 101: How You Can Effectively Leverage This Online Phenomenon To Brand Yourself

FacebookTwitter and LinkedIn are all social media outlets used primarily as platforms for interactive communities to share current happenings. Society has typically viewed the use of these sites for entertainment purposes, but I propose that military job seekers approach them as “networking resources.” Think of them as online résumés!

Let’s begin with the more professional application - LinkedIn. Many of you may be familiar with this website, but…

Welcome To PRStarbase

Initially, we launched PR Starbase as a recruitment community where public relations and marketing professionals could find career opportunities, advice and feedback regarding their search. A few interview camps and a few hundred members later, we want to expand our focus. We will continue to rely on PR Starbase as an important recruitment vehicle for our firm and other firms and corporations, not just in Atlanta, but nationwide.

However, we want PR Starbase to be bigger than a job engine. We see it as a community where the brightest minds will share their insights, stories and experiences related to the public relations and marketing industries. Because we are a Ning community, we are more than a blog, more than a community, more than a recruitment destination. So we encourage you to participate and to socialize in our community like we know you can do.
